If the hair gel has actually ';stained'; the leather ( it went darker etc) then you probably have a full aniline or semi-aniline leather, in which case if the stain has dried there is little you can do to ';remove'; it. The stain would actually be in the leather rather than on it. If it is a finished leather ( has a surface coating) gel should clean off with woolite and warm water or a facial soap and warm water ( they are both a closer pH to the leather than something like dishwashing soap that is very alkline). If you have one of the first type I described I'm afraid you will probably have to find a GOOD local leather tech ( call the ';high end'; furniture stores and see who they use- its how I got alot of my business)
Best of luck

Try leather cleaning wipes sold in the automotive aisle.
I'd be leery about using anything that isn't specifically made to clean leather or suede.
