If I use a hair gel every day and only wash my hair every other day, will the gel eventually damage my hair?

I have normal hair (it's not dry, but not oily) and the current hairstyle I have requires that I use hair gel to style it. I wash my hair every other day, because washing it too much can dry my hair out and give me split ends. I want to know if this routine combined with the hair gel is going to damage my hair. I use some kind of Suave Sculpting Hair Gel for my hair...If I use a hair gel every day and only wash my hair every other day, will the gel eventually damage my hair?
No, I don't think so. But you have to use a no alcohool gel, and once a week you have to do some hydration on your hair, ok?
