Is it ok to use hair gel in a babys hair?

Just wondering, and do you have to have a special kind of hair gel? Also, how old is the earliest to gel a babies hair? My nephew is 2 months, is that to early to make his hair spikey? Is it ok to use hair gel in a babys hair?
i was wondering the same thing, i believe you can if you use the one from Johnson's because they make stuff for babies sensitive skin, i am going by Johnson's reputation i also have a 5 week old baby and i just want to make him look cute and smell even better than he does so don't worry what people say :) using johnson's baby oil gel is your best choice. Is it ok to use hair gel in a babys hair?
Absolutely not.... Babies have very sensitive skin... many products have chemicals in them that can cause allergic reactions in babies and also make them prone to developing allergies to other things.. So it is not ok to use products made for adults on babies....

My advice... let your baby be a baby... don't try to rush him into growing up.

Im a Registered Nurse.
There are too many chemicals to put on the baby's scalp right now. The only thing I have ever added to my childrens scalp was a little baby oil/gel to moisten the scalp on occasion.

I have noticed one thing. If you can't find it in the baby section in most stores than it does not exist. I have never seen hair gel for babies. Keep that in mind when wanting to try anything new like that. If Johnson's don't make it, don't think about it. Better to be safe.

Mommy of 4
I'm sorry you got rude answers, i have wondered about this too but for my niece, she has LOTS of hair, my son, on the other hand is baldylocks..

I would wait awhile, i'm not really sure when you can start putting hair gel on your baby's head.. That Q would've gotten not-so-mean answers i think.

God Bless
If he's got long hair, you probably just need to brush it upwards when it's wet. That's what we used to do with our daughter's hair (it was super spunky). Now her hair is too long for that. That's all we did though- I'd brush it upwards with the brush on one side and my hand on the other, and it worked great.

As for using product, I'd wait until he was a little older just to be on the safe side. Their skin is still sensitive at that age.
we were recently wondering the same thing. and was told by my grandmother to just use the baby oil if we're going to use anything..

to the person to said the baby is not a decoration, stfu! that was totally rude, do you let your kids look like crap? it's not bad to want to fix a babies hair!
try using something like baby oil gel, i used it on my daughters hair from the time she was VERY little, maybe 1 month or 2. its in the baby section next to the oils
As long as the gel doesn't contain alcohol it is alright.
your nephew isn't a friggin' decoration you worthless, irresponsible moron.
