See TSA site below for list of what you can carry in your carry-on and checked luggage. Can i carry deodrant, hair oil / hair gel and other baisc liquids while flying in a domestic airlines?
As far as I know, you can carry the basic toiletries in small sizes inside of a transparent palstic bag ( one of those ziplock ones ) and keep it handy because I think you have to take it out of the suitcase when you pass security.
You can travel with these items, but if you choose to put them in your carry-on luggage you have to comply with these restrictions: Each item must be less than 3 oz, and you must put ALL liquids that are carried on inside a see-through plastic container (a large zip-loc will do).
Personally, I find it's better just to put all these things in my checked baggage. There's less hassle when going through security, and it just makes life easier. If you put these things in your checked baggage, be sure to put them inside plastic bags there too. . . that way if anything leaks, it won't ruin your clothes!

CHECK THE LIST!
of course, but i suggest you to put it on your luggage, not your carry on.. why? because if you bring more than 3oz liquid in your carry on, well, they gonna 'take it'.. and make sure you put all of it in a clear plastic bag..
The containers have to be 3 oz or less, placed in a one quart sized zippered plastic bag.
Sure, you just need to keep them in a plastic ziplock bag if your taking it in your carry on.
