The thing is I just took out a weaved ponytail that I had in for a while and I have caked on gel on my hair and specs of bonding glue in the front top of my head. I want to get my hair relaxed but I cant wash it because of the relaxer. I asked the hairdresser if It was okay to do it this way and she said it doesn't matter but I want a second opinion. Can you apply a relaxer when you have hair gel and specs of bonding glue?
Don't do it. From everything I've read when you've had a weave, braids or cornrows, you have to give your hair a rest (don't know how long) before using relaxer. Your hair will be more like to break. I would also think the glue will prevent the relaxer from relaxing some parts of your hair. If at all possible, try to wear a wig in the day time, let your hair scalp ';breathe'; at night and then relax when safe to.Can you apply a relaxer when you have hair gel and specs of bonding glue?
I would be careful doing this. As you and i both know relaxers have allot of chemicals in it. The glue is mostly rubber but there may be a reaction between the two. I would wash out the glue and wait a few days before you relax the hair. Better safe then bald and burnt.
