How do I prevent hair gel from flaking in my hair?

Hi, I just started wearing hair gel because of a fohawk i got. And I'm suing some hair gel to keep it up. The problem is, I have curly hair.

So I put on some hair gel, and sometimes I notice that my hair is flaking. Is there any way in which I could put on my hair gel so it wouldn't flake? How do I prevent hair gel from flaking in my hair?
I hate when that happens. It just totally destroys my hairstyle, that day. My aunt recommended this to me, after her daughter tried it.

*Here's what you do

Step 1: damp your hair a little.

Step 2: Dispense a quarter drop of the dry shampoo into your palm.

Step 3: work it through your hair from roots to ends.

Step 4: Style your fohawk like, regularly.

Step 5: Wa La. Your hair won't flake as much. At 1st, you might not see a difference yet, but you'll see the results in a couple of weeks.

*The product has oat milk which contains a special extract that softens hair and it'll help restore your hair to get it healthier. The hair flakes because it wasn't moisturized enough and always be sure to be using a good quality hairspray or gel.How do I prevent hair gel from flaking in my hair?
