Is regular hair gel bad for your hair if you have alopecia?

I am 16 years old and I have been diagnosed with alopecia since I was 2. I was wondering if I put regular hair gel in my hair, is that not good for my hair, seeing as I have alopecia? Is regular hair gel bad for your hair if you have alopecia?
I have alopecia too. Some sites say that you should be very gentle with your hair, don't use hairspray, gel ect. to help keep as much as you can. But I belong to an online support group and everyone on there says do whatever you want, it doesn't really matter wether you use products like this or not your hair will do what it wants either way. I continue to color my hair and use hairspray as I want and it does not seem to make the hair fall out any worse than usual. Also using the products helps me to cover the spots. If I don't use hairspray the wind blows my hair and shows my bald spots!!!!Is regular hair gel bad for your hair if you have alopecia?
From what I read on the internet, it did not say you could not use a regular shampoo for your hair. It did recommend using Thymuskin or Nisim shampoo to help your hair regrow. I don't know if these products work or not. The websites say they do. Good Luck!
