What can I use instead of hair gel to flatten hair?

I'm a guy with mid-length guy hair and I normally wear backwards caps on an average day, but the problem is the back of my hair doesn't lay completely flat.... It's perfect if it's soaking wet, but only for 30 minutes.... Or it's fine if I use some water+gel, but I'm not a fan of wearing a hat and still needing some gel... Is there anything else I could use? I tried some Frizz-Ease serum stuff, but that didn't really do anything for me. Thanks in advance!What can I use instead of hair gel to flatten hair?

a really small amount of lotion.


if you use too much it will become greasy.

you could use hair wax its really good, or you could always leave a bit of conditioner in your hair when you wash it

It does actually work on dry hair, but you have to blow dry your hair again after you've put it on so it doesnt look greasy.


It makes hair really flat.


And if you dont like it, you can always wash it out.

get a flat iron and have a girl friend, or someone at a hair salon show you how to use it.
the brand bed head straightner is great for that...being a guy i'm not sure but if u have the time but, a flat iron is wonderful....just make sure on damp hair u use a protector prior to drying because even the best flat iron will still break ur hair ....i use a flat iron everyday because my hair has a slight wave sounds like urs might too ... merry x-mas
