What is the difference between hair wax and hair gel?

and which one is better for someone to have spiky hair? What is the difference between hair wax and hair gel?
Wax is pastier (I'm trying to think of the texture to tell you - It's kind of like really thick Elmer's Glue), and it has an extremely tough hold, although it does tend to feel a bit sticky.Gel is good, but it can give hair a wet look and crunch if too much is used (I really like it for curlers). If you want hardcore spikes, go with the wax, although it may flake during the day (and risk looking like dandruff) if you use too much. About a nickel-size dollop rubbed between your fingers works. What is the difference between hair wax and hair gel?
depends on your preferences... hair wax is heavier so you know its there but it dries to look dry not ';wet'; if that make sense... but if your going for the spiky look you'll probably want to use a wax because its a stronger hold... i prefer to use a wax on my clients.. but thats just my opinion :)
Depends on the look you are going for. Wax is very thick and has very good hold. But gel has alot of hold but becomes hard and crusty. But i think the wax.but not too much little bit
