many of us use hair get of different brands. the question is, whether these products haram or hilal. If haram what is the reason behind ?Is usng hair gel of different barands available in markets Halal or haram?
no it's not, i even don't know how this idea cross your mind, absolutely halal, and of course there is no reason for being haramIs usng hair gel of different barands available in markets Halal or haram?
i think it's not haram to use hair gel.
hair gel makes your hair is easier to be managed. something haram about our hair is if we color it with the black color, or we do a hair-extension thing, or we use a wig on it.
so in my opinion, using hair gel isn't including to haram thing.

Ok, i was at a super market and i found a gel brand. it says it is invisible gel. does it mean that it will not make your hair shine? this is the invisible gel i found : http://fructis.garnier.ca/en/product_fs.鈥?/a>Does invisible hair gel mean that the product will not make your hair shine?
No.Does invisible hair gel mean that the product will not make your hair shine?
it means it wont be crunchy or shiny so your hair will look natural and feel natural
Yes - I think the point is that, unlike with other gels, it won't be obvious that you have gel in your hair. (Theoretically.)

Hair spray def.
Its lighter, doesnt look wet and it doesnt make the hair clump together like hairgel does.Should i use Hair Gel Or Hair Spray to style my fringe?
Hairspray. I don't like the look of gel on my hair. Hairspray is less noticeable.
spray for girls gel for men because it gives it a wet look
i dont use hair spray any more after i saw something on the t.v. it showed you that if you spray hair spray onto a sheet of plastic, the hair spray will dry as plastic. so basically you are sparyin plastic on to your hair. so no, i wouldnt use hairspray... i would go with gel.deleted myspace

Is it ok to use hair gel in a babys hair?
Just wondering, and do you have to have a special kind of hair gel? Also, how old is the earliest to gel a babies hair? My nephew is 2 months, is that to early to make his hair spikey? Is it ok to use hair gel in a babys hair?
i was wondering the same thing, i believe you can if you use the one from Johnson's because they make stuff for babies sensitive skin, i am going by Johnson's reputation i also have a 5 week old baby and i just want to make him look cute and smell even better than he does so don't worry what people say :) using johnson's baby oil gel is your best choice. Is it ok to use hair gel in a babys hair?
Absolutely not.... Babies have very sensitive skin... many products have chemicals in them that can cause allergic reactions in babies and also make them prone to developing allergies to other things.. So it is not ok to use products made for adults on babies....
My advice... let your baby be a baby... don't try to rush him into growing up.
Im a Registered Nurse.
There are too many chemicals to put on the baby's scalp right now. The only thing I have ever added to my childrens scalp was a little baby oil/gel to moisten the scalp on occasion.
I have noticed one thing. If you can't find it in the baby section in most stores than it does not exist. I have never seen hair gel for babies. Keep that in mind when wanting to try anything new like that. If Johnson's don't make it, don't think about it. Better to be safe.
Mommy of 4
I'm sorry you got rude answers, i have wondered about this too but for my niece, she has LOTS of hair, my son, on the other hand is baldylocks..
I would wait awhile, i'm not really sure when you can start putting hair gel on your baby's head.. That Q would've gotten not-so-mean answers i think.
God Bless
If he's got long hair, you probably just need to brush it upwards when it's wet. That's what we used to do with our daughter's hair (it was super spunky). Now her hair is too long for that. That's all we did though- I'd brush it upwards with the brush on one side and my hand on the other, and it worked great.
As for using product, I'd wait until he was a little older just to be on the safe side. Their skin is still sensitive at that age.
we were recently wondering the same thing. and was told by my grandmother to just use the baby oil if we're going to use anything..
to the person to said the baby is not a decoration, stfu! that was totally rude, do you let your kids look like crap? it's not bad to want to fix a babies hair!
try using something like baby oil gel, i used it on my daughters hair from the time she was VERY little, maybe 1 month or 2. its in the baby section next to the oils
As long as the gel doesn't contain alcohol it is alright.
your nephew isn't a friggin' decoration you worthless, irresponsible moron.

Does anyone know of some really strong hair gel?
I have tried all sorts of hair gel to spike my hair up but because its so thick nothing will do it! Any suggestions?Does anyone know of some really strong hair gel?
Try Got 2 B Glued , it is in a yellow tube, it is awesome for short thick hair, and last's a long time. It is not gel though it is pomade , but all my guy friend's swear by it .
RobinDoes anyone know of some really strong hair gel?
Hi there. I have thick hair, and what works for me is Shock Waves ultra stron Tuff Stuff Gel by Wella. Also, maybe you need to consider to go to the hairdressers and ask them to use thinning scissors on your hair, this should help your hair to spike up easier.
Try Dax in the red tin - takes some getting out though.
Failing that the 70's Punks used sugar and water or soap. Don't know what happens if it rains though!
EASY WAVES You can get it in some African shops .It is suitable for every one.
buy the hair gel that is ';super mega hold'; or ';mega mega hold';
there is a 1-10 hold system, mega mega hold is #9, not sure what 10 is
I would suggested you to use Sebaxtian Xtah Roxx, this would definitely pull your hair up! try it! you are not need any hair gel, those would not give you what ou want.
Yes, LA Looks or Dep, but if you really need uber strength, go with egg whites.
punks use water with lots of dissolved sugar!!! I don't know the exact recipe!!!
Try Paul Mitchel Lab Extreme thickening glue
http://www.hqhair.com/code/products.asp?鈥?/a>
I use it, it's greeeeeeeeeeeaaattttt!!!!!!!
bed head (tigi) do a good1 you can get it from all hairdressers
L'oreal's extreme hold does the trick for my fly away hair - it holds all day and brushes out easily - lovely stuff!
vo5 freeze gel, or there's some stuff in a yellow bottle but i cant remember what its called and that's really strong too.
no i dont need it
When I was a teenager and a couple of my friends had mohawks they used to use egg whites, or plain gelatin to get them to stay up.
The eggs work well, but obviously can smell bad. The gelatin didn't smell, but could be a bit sticky. You want to get the plain kind, not like Jello brand or anything. It should be in the same section, if not ask the store. It might also be in the baking section. Just follow the directions on the package to prepare it, but instead of turning it into gelatin, use it in your hair just before it hardens.
i like Quick Change Shaping Balm by Short Sexy Hair. it works great and smells like lemon pie :)
Well, according to ';There's Something About Mary,'; semen seems to work wonders! LOL j/k
Seriously, I recommend Hair Glue by Got 2b. It's called Got 2b Glued and it's for a fact, one of the strongest hair glues made in the world. It's in a yellow container and can be found at any local retail store. Wal Mart sells it for about $5 I believe.
Trust me... once it's in, it STAYS until you wash your hair. It works for ALL types of hair, thin or thick; short or long. You won't be disappointed!

Is it safe to put hairspray/hair gel/ moose in my luggage (not carry on) on an airplane?
Im leaving in about 2 hours. please its an emergency!!Is it safe to put hairspray/hair gel/ moose in my luggage (not carry on) on an airplane?
Go right ahead, as long as the hairspray is not aerosol. I would also make sure that each hair cair product is in a plastic bag, in case it leaks or drips. Is it safe to put hairspray/hair gel/ moose in my luggage (not carry on) on an airplane?
It's probably safe, but wouldn't it make less of a mess if you just left the stuff in the bottles it came in?
yes, but try to put it in a large zip lock baggie or wrap in plastic bags, just in case. I have never had a problem
yes, baggage is pressurized.
Use a gallon size ziplock before you put it in suitcase .Change in pressure in baggage compartment will cause products to leak or spew. Especially hairspray .

For volume and hold definitely try these Bed Head products for volumizing

BedHead Cocky would work good for you.
It's a thickening paste.
Just add it to dry hair and style.
Here's the link: http://www.tigihaircare.com/consumer/en-鈥?/a>
You can buy it at salons.
:]
My friend with SUPER flat hair said Bed Head is good. I wouldn't know, because my hair, if I volumized it anymore, would look like a.... big fat mess. xD. I find just letting my hair air-dry poofs it up, but honstly, I like my hair messy and non-volumized....

Will black hair gel or spray (Halloween) turn blonde hair green or is that just the semi or permanent colors?
I'm going to be a goth faerie for Halloween and I have dishwater blonde hair. I wanted to put black chunky streaks throughout it but I'm afraid of the outcome. I know it's probably a dumb question but I REALLY don't want to end up with green hair, LOL! Any help is welcomed! Will black hair gel or spray (Halloween) turn blonde hair green or is that just the semi or permanent colors?
It's more likely to go purple than green.
My friend tried to dye her highlighted blonde hair black, and ended up with a funky shade of purple (which looked alright.. then got progressively worse as she tried to wash it out)
But purple would work for a goth fairy :P
The spray/gels shouldn't do that though, because its not really altering your hair, just covering it. You might have a purple tinge for a day or two after you wash it out, but not much moreWill black hair gel or spray (Halloween) turn blonde hair green or is that just the semi or permanent colors?
colored hair gels, sprays, mousses, etc. are only temporary colors, meaning they will wash out within a few shampoos. the more you wash it, the more you will get it to fade and eventually wash completely out. once it starts fading it might look green because of your blonde hair, but it's only temprary so i wouldn't worry about it. just wash your hair a lot.
it shouldnt. try it out in a small section. it washes out no? so try it now and if it does don't use it, but i wouldnt imagine that it would

How do I properly use hair gel?
I use styling glue, which is supposed to achieve the stiffest result, but for some reason my hair doesn't properly harden. If I run my hand through my hair it will mess up. I have short hair cut (5-1/2). I first drench my hair with water, then comb it, apply gel, then comb it again. Am I not supposed to wet it first? Any styling experts out there? How do I properly use hair gel?
Drenching your hair basically dilutes the gel. If you want it to be hard put the gel in clean dry hair and style it, and then maybe put aerosol hair spray on it. That's what my brother does and it seems to work. How do I properly use hair gel?
it would probably work best if your hair was dry.

What is the gel for?
You can easily just use a paste or a wax instead, or even hair spray.
There are many out there, so look up reviews (try out makeupalley.com, I think that you can now view reviews without having a free account?)deleted myspace

Where can I find wax/very strong hair gel for my long hair?
I'm a guy and I have shoulder-length hair....and the front of my hair reaches all the way down to my mouth....I have healthy hair, but I wanna be able to spike it, I have about 3-4 layers of hair, I think that's too thick to spike it, but whenever I try with my parents hair gel, it always goes down. What are good products they sell that will spike my hair up?Where can I find wax/very strong hair gel for my long hair?

What is better for my hair gel or mousse?
I have really curly hair and frizzy and puffy and i was wondering what would be better for my hair for srunching and holding it all day....or if i should use both? and does gel damage your hair? THANKS SOOOO MUCH! i luv yall. What is better for my hair gel or mousse?
i use mousse, it looks better to gel, as the gel makes your hair look greasy and wet, were as the mousse doesnt. What is better for my hair gel or mousse?
gel is really heavy and hard. i use mousse, my friend has curly hair and she uses mousse.
i use both with a lil bit of hair spray it works
and stays all day for me
This wasn't in your ';Which is better'; choice, but I'd recommend hair styling wax, cos you can style your hair anytime of the day when you have it in your hair. And some even moisturizes your hair!
But if its just gel or mousse, I'd recommend mousse. Cos if you blowdry your hair after using mousse, you could also re-style your hair even hours later, just the disadvantage of having slightly sticky hands.
Best if you could re-style your hair in the washroom so you could just wash your hands if you can't stand the stickiness.
Good luck with deciding!
PS: I've read online that gel damages your hair, but I'm not sure if its true...
mousse...(:

Best hair gel that is not too expensive ?
I am looking for a hair gel that is not too expensive but hold my hair up but doesn't make my hair hard as rock! Any suggestions ?Best hair gel that is not too expensive ?
Try Power Trip hair gel by Bed Head. I love it!! It has firm hold without the flaky build up or hard as rock feel.
http://www.tigihaircare.com/consumer/en-鈥?/a>Best hair gel that is not too expensive ?
Gels are designed to make your hair ';hard as a rock';. If you don't want that mousses or waxes are much better. Got2B is a great brand and inexpensive too!
have you tried schwarzkopf gel that is good and usually cost around 拢2.99 or even brylcream wet look gel which is 拢3.00

Is it ok for me to be using mens hair gel ?
I have medium length hair and I use the loreal studio indestructable hair gel . I find that it is the only thing that helps my hair to dry my hair less frizzy and it dries out with lovely curls . Is it bad for my hair to use mens hait gel or do a lot of women do it ?Is it ok for me to be using mens hair gel ?
no biggie! i use it all the time. perfectly harmlessIs it ok for me to be using mens hair gel ?
i used to and i dont think their is a difference. and really i have curly frizzy hair aswell and i found wut works also is spray gel from garnier frutis or how ever u spell it ha but make sure you get the strong hole and move it through ur hair hope this helps %26lt;3
Yes it's fine. It's probably no different than girl hair gel besides maybe a different smell.
Hair is hair. You will probably find the same ingredients but a different price tag on ';Men's Hair Gel.'; End of story.
gel isnt gender-specific. :)
It's not bad at all. If it works, use it. I've used men's gel before and it's fine, it won't affect your hair.
why should any body else really care what you use as long as it works best for you thats all that should matter
How is it ';men's'; hair gel? Do they have different hair than us?

Could you recommend a hairspray or hair gel for my bangs/fringe?
what hair gel do you recommend to keep bangs/fringe in place all day without making my hair feel gross and hard?
how do you style side swept bangs with gel or hairspray?
any recommendations on products and styling tips?Could you recommend a hairspray or hair gel for my bangs/fringe?
It is not which brand you use but how you do it is the key. Use round brush/blow dry your bangs. Apply the hairspray directly to your round brush, then quickly brush you bangs in circular motion then your bangs are set. It will last all day. Be sure to use the hairspray that is soft to manage not stiff kind.Could you recommend a hairspray or hair gel for my bangs/fringe?
Bed head, shinny gloss spray! Awesome stuff. Comes in a teal bottle.
umm paul mitchell soft style line is good. like all worked up.
it's a hairspray but it doesn't make your hair crunchy or sticky.
but personally i think that heat styling with no product is the best way to go. just blow out your hair in that direction.
If you want serious then i'll recommend Aqua net. For a slightly softer hold try Rave. Both excellent for all day hold.

What type of hair gel do you use?
For guys, when you just get up and put on some gel, what do you use? Whats the best gel to use for everyday use before school? What type of hair gel do you use?
LA Sports 10 for maximum hold. You can buy it at wal mart. It comes in a blue bottle like this:
http://www.shopping.com/xPO-L_A_Looks_Sp鈥?/a>
Simple. What type of hair gel do you use?
well, though i'm not a guy, in mah opinion, how abt 'set wet' hair stylin gel. but its better not 2 use those kinda gel stuff.
The best is called Spiking Gel from FX Special Effects. You can get it at any Walgreens.
bed somithin
it called ';now youre styln';
i use lets jam...its an alcohol free gel that doesnt dry out your hair
Uh the question kinda asked for guys opinions but I don't use gel. Hair wax/lotion is better because it doesn't turn your hair hard and immobile but you can still use it to style it. It can be a little more expensive though.
Paul Mitchel
Bed Head and Kerastasse are my 2 fave hair products!
I use granier spray or its gel. The spray dries very quickly and gives you desired style in seconds. If you dont prefer sprays i then its gel is also pretty good.
i used this 3 dollar tub of LA BELLA
i know its cheap but it works really well doesnt flake!
Bed Head. It's at Walmart and there are three kinds. I like the pomade in the short jar.deleted myspace

How to style my bob with hair gel?
I have a bob, really long in front, super short in back. I have ';surfer hair'; gel, and ';flexible'; gel.
Both good brands. My hair is really flat, what cool thing can I do with my gel?How to style my bob with hair gel?
you could use a round brush in the top part and poof it up..
part your bangs to the side, or maybe do a Zig Zag part, and have the top part poofed, and spike out the back.
when you put the gel in, its easier if your hair is wet, and then you dry your hair, use a round brush and use it like a curling iron, curling your hair under and creating volume.
or
you could do a zig zag part up the entire top of your head
Or
you could use berets in your bangs and spike your hair up. theres lots of stuff you can do with a bob. google short styles and see for yourself :)How to style my bob with hair gel?
Don't use gel. Use a silicone based product.
shave it all off and go bald
Ask the woman that cuts your hair!
One doesn't style a ';bob'; with gel. One's hair either ';falls'; into a ';bob'; or it doesn't.

Can I take hair gel on an airplane in the checked bag if it is more then 3 oz?
I am going out of town for about a month and I use hair gel everyday there is a store out here that you can buy alot of my kind of gel for a really low price. And that store is not out there. So could I take a BIG jar of hair gel in the suitcase NOT carry-on?Can I take hair gel on an airplane in the checked bag if it is more then 3 oz?
Yes. No problem. Just as long as it's not in your carry on, it is fine in your checked baggage. Can I take hair gel on an airplane in the checked bag if it is more then 3 oz?
Yes, you'll be ok. You can take it on your checked bagged. The only kind of gel that they'll allow you to take on carry-on is those sample or travel size ones that are less than 3 oz.
Have fun flying!
Also if you don't really want to take a big jar of jel lol, try another kind of gel when you get there. Saves you space for other things to pack.
as long as its in the suitcase and not the carry-on you'll be okie day.

Does your crotchal area smell like hair gel?
Crotchal is an old word that Cowbell just made up. What kind of hair gel is best in that area?Does your crotchal area smell like hair gel?
My crotchal area does not currently smell like hair gel.
I think the best kind of hair gel would be the kind you get at the dollar store. Extra crunchy is always good.Does your crotchal area smell like hair gel?
Interesting that HE has even considered the question..
I can't get that close to my 'crotchal' area to 'sniff' it, let alone...err...never mind. But the point is..I can only assume that my area smells like soap..and that's only cause I shower.
I only play a dog on TV...not really a dog so not able to li...err...never mind again. But no wonder he won't come out of the closet eh? He's having way too much fun...by himself.
See, that just wouldn't work with me, because I keep the pubes shaved very short.
But in a nod to old-school, I put a little Bryl-Cream in there, along with a hint of Old Spice.
I prefer something cheap with yet a radiant ambiance that will hold even in a high wind. Wal-Mart has some slammin gel for about a buck 98 with extreme hold.
The kind that Cameron Diaz rubs in her hair in the movie Something About Mary !
Actually it probably smells like peppermint...festive huh?
I was sitting here naked eating peppermint bark and now my whole crotcal area is sticky...but I can't get my nose close enough to get a good whiff...I've tried.
Something super sticky so I can make weird shapes and designs in the hair that is down there
Maybe you need a cut and shampoo and then you won't need hair gel.
I cant get past the word 'crotchal'....I use Sauve,it costs less
No hair, no need for hair gel....
Mine smell like soap.
Yes. It's the only thing that will hold the mohawk in place. How did you know?
If it smells like salmon I'd say some tartar sauce to give it a nice kick :D
No but my behindal zone
smells like Petunias.
I don't know why...
No hair gel,i buff mine with wax...
No, it smells like pee.
mint toothpaste, believe it or not.
sorry mine just smells like lotion, i don't have carpet.
No, it smells like beer....which I just spilled in my lap. I know...party foul...and it looks like I pis*ed my pants.

I have extremely fine hair as well, everything weighs it down.
I looked for stylist who had fine hair, whi better to ask.
The answer is Aveda Phomollient.

You can't find it in stores, order online.

Redken Hardware 16. Cost me $12 for 8.5 oz. You just need a little for a strong hold. I have really fine hair and it works great. I've tried alot of others, but this works the best for me. I get it at the beauty salon.
I really love Pantene Pro V, but also try Herbal Essences because they have avariety of different mousses.
Garnier Fructis.
Make sure not to use lots of moose/hairspray/gel it tends to dry your hair.

Is there a hardcore healthy hair gel that is equal to this?
When I take a shower and put shampoo in it I can shape it as if it was straight. But it only has this quality when wet and has this heavy shampoo solution in it. Is there a hair friendly gel that could do the same for my hair after it dries? Is there a hardcore healthy hair gel that is equal to this?
there are plenty of gels that will do that, but I would spend a little extra and go to a Hair Cuttery or Great Clips or something and get a J. Crew pomeade. It holds extremely well and isn't ridiculously stiff like a gel. You can get pomeade almost anywhere, but J. Crew works well for me.deleted myspace

Can you recommend a good hair gel that won't cause a snow storm soon as it dries?
Don't have a lot of time some days so I just run a little through my hair and run... plus its almost summer and I don't fare so well with humidity. Any brands? Can you recommend a good hair gel that won't cause a snow storm soon as it dries?
Granted I am a guy and you (I assume) are not. I stopped using Gel ages ago for that very reason. Once I found there are so many other products that are much less damaging for your hair and stay soft yet hold well. Try a texturing paste or something close. Then spray a little bit of a good hair spray to help it stay.
PS, I am straight, just know a lot about hair. Can you recommend a good hair gel that won't cause a snow storm soon as it dries?
you should use transitions gel. it always works for me. Good luck!

I need to make a model of an animal cell. I have heard of models that use clear hair gel. Any ideas?
I thought about using a clear christmas ornament, (the kind that you can take apart and put something inside) but I don't know if I could put hair gel inside without it leaking. Also, I don't know what to make the other cell parts out of that would be small enough to fit inside the ornament. Any ideas? I want to use the ornament so that I can hang it from an ornament hanger for displaying. I don't want to use food items because I want it to last a long time. that's not really the question, the question is is it possible to put any hair gel on my hair, and then straiten it with a hair straightener???What do you get when you cross a hair straightener with hair gel?
all you will get it hard, crunchy hair that looks ugly. dont use hair gel. no good. you can use a light spray of straightening SPRAY made for straighteningWhat do you get when you cross a hair straightener with hair gel?

Is there any safe hair gel to use on a 14 month old baby?
My son has difficult to manage hair and I thought it would be easier with gel, but I don't want it to harm him in any way. Any ideas? Is there any safe hair gel to use on a 14 month old baby?
try the Johnson's gel.... or just use a tiny dollop (like the size of a pea) of conditioner rubbed into your fingers and worked through his hair... should have the calming effect without the ';gel'; look...
Can't help but say, ';hey, is your baby gellin??'; hehehe...Is there any safe hair gel to use on a 14 month old baby?
My mother used Baby Magic Lotion on my hair when I was a baby. It held well enough to put a little curly-q on the top of my head.
Let it fly Mom!

johnson's baby gel i think
tht johnson's crap they sell on tv
You can always try petroleum jelly (vaseline) and see if that works, but I am pretty sure that Johnson's has a hair jell for babies. Try going to a hair supply store or maybe a local grocery store and look in the hair care aisle, and see if they have gels or lotions specially formulated for babies. I will guess that plain water doesn't work, but if you haven't tried it you can, and see how that works.
You can use any type of gel on a baby's hair, just be sure not to get it in his eyes.
If you want a kids gel, I do believe L'Oreal makes some.deleted myspace

How do they make Hair gel?
How do factories make Hair gel? I need a process in order to do a project due soon. How do they make Hair gel?
I couldn't find any factory produced hair gel products, but there are a lot of home made recipes which might help, if not maybe it might be worth writing to a manufacturer and explaining why you need to know

Does hair gel cause your hair to fall out?
I heard that using hair gel on a regular basis can cause your hair to fall out in the future. Is this true?Does hair gel cause your hair to fall out?
No. Hair gel doesn't cause hair loss. It damages your hair, and drys it which tends to cause breakage and make it brittle and split. Although, no hair loss involved. So what you heard might be a rumor.
Hope that helped ;)Does hair gel cause your hair to fall out?
yes. so can shampoo.

Do guys who live in the South and Midwest use hair gel?
I live in New Jersey...I was told that in the NY/NJ area and other urban areas around the country are the only places where so many guys use hair gel. They said you can instantly point out people from New Jersey, is this so?Do guys who live in the South and Midwest use hair gel?
Do they sell 2% milk in New Jersey, because us in the Midwest drink it and you can point us out... Yes, people use gel everywhere!?!Do guys who live in the South and Midwest use hair gel?
No.. People sterotype way to much, I live in Kansas city Missouri, there are a ton of people who use gel and dress with style, i barely see any ';hicks'; unless i drive into southern kansas lol.
I must have a lot of men from NJ and NY coming into my salon buying all my hair gel then. The commute to OK must be killer.

curl it
Braid it. French braids. Tiny braids. Try them all.
i used to have straight dull long hair but i got a perm to give it loose curls and more volume. but if you dont want to do anything drastic, you could try rubbing a little mousse in your damp hair and then tying it in a bun. after 30 mins to an hour, let it loose and your hair will have loose waves/curls.

What are some good brands of hair gel?
What are some good brands of hair gel to use that won't make the hair flake and dry and that have some good ingredients in it?What are some good brands of hair gel?
I am using Abba right now. It is okay. Because I like gels that you could put in your hair when it is dry. I don't like natural, because for me, the more natural, the worse it works so go chemicals!
A really good one, but is not really a gel but acts as an awesome one is Bed head After Party. You could put this in wet or dry hair. Have not used it but should be amazing!
ANOTHER good one should be laminates by sebastian
If you like natural, look into earth sciencesWhat are some good brands of hair gel?
I use Herbal Essences products, and Pro V. Or if you are looking for Natural I'd check out a place like Trader Joe';s or Rainbow Market.
I like the brand, Gee, I Can't Believe I Just Wasted My Money On This Unnecessary Crap!
i like fructice hair products. they smell nice

Why does my hair gel always dry out?
Whenever I use hair gel it always dries out after about 2 hours. But on my friends it looks wet and shiny for the whole day. What am I doing wrong? Why does my hair gel always dry out?
Try using a different product. MOUSSE. It can still give you that hold, but it doesnt dry out, and it keeps the hair soft. Or at least ultra strong hold hair sprayWhy does my hair gel always dry out?
i hate gel but when i do use it after i put on the gel i put grease on top of it so when your hair gets hard it stays luukin shiny
Get Aussie spray gel. it works magnificantly and doesnt dry out or clump. It gets kinda hard but it looks wet. None of that white flake stuff.
Some gels contain alcohol..it's best to read the label before considering purchasing

Yeah, you should call the vet. Put her in the yard so she can eat grass and then throw up. When she's done you can actually give her chicken noodle soup, it makes doggies feel better too! (True, look it up)

If I were to use colored hair gel, what could I do to make it smooth/not hard?
I'm not sure of the exact brand name of the colored gel I have, so I can't tell you that.
I was thinking about brushing it, but that wouldn't take the color out of it, would it?

Is there any alternative homemade receipe for strong hold hair gel or wax?
i mean, can u make any alternative strong hold hair gel or wax at ur home using easily available items, if yes then how ?Is there any alternative homemade receipe for strong hold hair gel or wax?
Hair control wax is fairly easy to make. Basically a variety of waxes, petroleum jelly and a scent if desired, are melted together and mixed and then poured into a small jar or other storage receptacle, to cool down and set. The higher the wax content, the stiffer the wax. I don't think gel is a home made product. Is there any alternative homemade receipe for strong hold hair gel or wax?
Honey, although I don't know if it'll be as strong as you want. It also can be used as a hair treatment.

What are the ingredient of hair gel which make it sticky?
where can i buy it? can I buy it on drugstores? .. I need it for my Investigatory Project on my science class .. could you suggest more for it? thanks for the helpWhat are the ingredient of hair gel which make it sticky?
in most gels it is plastic called pvp which is a polymer sealer. The polymers in PVP are dissolved in water or alcohol and form a clear film between each hair strand. They call the sticking capillary power.

Should I shampoo my hair after usage of Hair Gel?
Should i shampoo my hair at the end of the day or just rinse it and clean out the gel? I shampoo in the day usually and then apply gel, so i don't know if its good to shampoo twice in a day.Should I shampoo my hair after usage of Hair Gel?
You should wash your hair every other day. Otherwise it will damage it.Should I shampoo my hair after usage of Hair Gel?
Definitely wash it out as shampoo cleans out your hair however washing it too much can make your hair greasy. You are actually meant to wash your hair every other day but when using gel when it dries and is left in it can look as if you have dandruff!
Just wash it out. What's the worse it can do to you if you don't shampoo?
If you use a lot of gel, you'll need to wash it every day. Day 2 of gel and mousse will create white residue that looks like dandruff! Washing twice a day is bad for your hair and scalp.deleted myspace

Can using hair gel and wearing hats cause you to go bald?
Just curious. I've heard it can, but I've also heard that it's all a crock of crap. Can using hair gel and wearing hats cause you to go bald?
hair loss=hair gelCan using hair gel and wearing hats cause you to go bald?
Hats no. But hair gel might if you use too much of it. It can make the hair fall out. Use it in moderation.
no who in the world told you that nonsense
it's genetics......and certain drugs prescribed can do it too
yes they can... my dad and uncle have that problem from hats! It is not a crock of crap!
No, just using hair gel and wearing hats can not 'cause you to go bald' ... only your 'genetic makeup' can do that ... but using hair gel and wearing hats all the time can certainly help 'aggravate' the balding so that it happens a bit faster.
Baldness is hereditary.
You cannot go bald from wearing hats or using hair gel. Unless that hair gel has alot of alcohol (as the first or second ingredient), then your hair will snap off like fall leaves in a wind storm.
Lastly, braiding hair too tight can cause balding, but so can stress.

What is a really good hair gel/mousse for curly, wavy hair?
My hair length is right above my shoulders and it has some curl, some wavy..and can be frizzy. What is the best hold for all day? What is a really good hair gel/mousse for curly, wavy hair?
I found the best mousse is L'oreal Studio Mouse. Its in a white bottle and is pretty cheap. You should also try the same brand hairspray. What is a really good hair gel/mousse for curly, wavy hair?
Paul Mitchell's Sculpting Foam
Sounds as though my hair type is similar, and I use Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny. It's a serum that won't make your hair crunchy (I hate that because it makes my neck itchy) but will tame the frizzies and help sculpt your curls. Good luck!
By using anything from a supermarket or drugstore, all your doing is the adverse on your hair, because all these products contain alcohols and preservatives that dry out your hair. I have curly hair, and I've learned that curly will always be dry due to the texture so I use only natural or organic products. You should try using Giovanni Leave-in Conditioner (look on vitamin shoppe.com or any health food store) and look on www.carolsdaughter.com. But just stay away from alcohols, which is anything you buy at CVS, Walgreens, etc.
ok i suggest there is this garnier fructis curling shaping spray gel
(it is strong)
I have the same type of hair and I use TIGI Bed Head ';After Party';. It's a lotion that takes away the frizzies, leaves the curl in, and doesn't get crunchy! You can use it on wet or dry hair.
I use Tresseme (sp) gel and hairspray works for me when my hair is curly.

Don't use gel because it flakes. Use daily doctor braid spray and tie your hair up each night.

Help! Anyone have any ideas on getting hair gel stains off a leather couch?
If the hair gel has actually ';stained'; the leather ( it went darker etc) then you probably have a full aniline or semi-aniline leather, in which case if the stain has dried there is little you can do to ';remove'; it. The stain would actually be in the leather rather than on it. If it is a finished leather ( has a surface coating) gel should clean off with woolite and warm water or a facial soap and warm water ( they are both a closer pH to the leather than something like dishwashing soap that is very alkline). If you have one of the first type I described I'm afraid you will probably have to find a GOOD local leather tech ( call the ';high end'; furniture stores and see who they use- its how I got alot of my business)
Best of luck

I'd be leery about using anything that isn't specifically made to clean leather or suede.

Does Axe hair gel ruin your hair? what can i use instead of gel to get a messy scruffy look?
i use Axe hair gel - Shaggy Look, for my hair, will it ruin my hair? im trying to get that messy scruffy look, my hair is medium length, it goes to about the bottom of my ears. What can i do to achieve this look?Does Axe hair gel ruin your hair? what can i use instead of gel to get a messy scruffy look?
hair gel wont ruin your hair but for that look gel might not be the best thing to use, id go with a palmade or a wax on your hair.

Are there any hair gel's out there that dont make hair curly?
I have reaaaaally curly hair, and i straighten it all the time so i sorta need a gel that wont make it go curly again. Does such a thing exist? Are there any hair gel's out there that dont make hair curly?
I don't think hair gel is the right product for what you are looking for. You need something that will keep your hair smooth, and soft all day long.
Look at getting a heat protector, and styling cream. There are a lot of really good products on the market right now.
Where gel helps with frizz, and holding your curls in place, it's not going to seal the cuticles of your hair like a product made for straightening will.
My hair works well with some fructese products, Redkin, and citrashine. They are in very different price ranges, so depending on what you feel comfortable paying for, look into some of these lines to see the products work for you.
Ulta has a really great selection of both salon products as well as drug store styling products.
I hope this helps you out! Don't forget to condition that curly hair! Healthy hair is the foundation of every great style. Are there any hair gel's out there that dont make hair curly?
First of all, are you using a thermal protectant when straightening your hair? If not, you need to not only to help keep it straight but to protect your hair from damage. Second, there is a product at the salons by Kenra called Kenra Smoothing Cream. Using the right products will help you achieve the look you want and keep it that way longer. Moisture is what makes the hair go back curly, so you need something that will protect your hair from any kind of moisture. Good luck!!
Get a Bio Ionic treatment and you won't have to bother with curls for about six months. This treatment smooths out your hair and strengthens it at the same time by adding ions.
A similar treatment for curly hair like yours, entails a Keratin treatment where protein is ';forced'; back into the hair to make it super straight and sleek, yet super strong as well.
use dax or murrays......its really for waves but it keeps my hair smooth and not frizzy
no that i heard of... i always tried to find some... imgivingn your question a star... LOL.

Knox Gelatin For Hair Gel: How do You Make It?
I have knox unflavored gelatin to make hair gel. I first heard of it from Travis Barker (Drummer of Blink 182) he used it to put up his mohawk. I need to know exactly how to make it. And where to store it.Knox Gelatin For Hair Gel: How do You Make It?
When added to boiling water and cooled, unflavored gelatin can make a home-made hair styling gel that is cheaper than many commercial hair styling products, but by comparison has a shorter shelf life (about a week) when stored in this form (usually in a refrigerator). After being applied to scalp hair, it can be removed with rinsing and some shampoo.

So what's the difference between HAIR GEL and HAIR WAX?
I'm a guy with short hair, looking for a more natural look rather than the spiked, gelled hair I have now...
So, should I switch to wax?So what's the difference between HAIR GEL and HAIR WAX?
Actually I think it all depends on what you are looking for. Some gels still offer that natural look. Gel doesn't always mean spiked, get a different level. The gels that I purchase come in numbers/strenghts 1-10. One just means you use it for a bit of control, you'd never be able to spike your hair with it, ten, of course, means ultimate spikes.
Wax, eh, I don't really suggest was either. The issue with wax is that it can cause build up in your hair. And depending on your hair texture, and color it may not look to great. It will be shiny on your hair, and if you use to much it will be thick and oily. Depening on the type of wax that you use. If you want to use wax, find one that is very light, possibly one that is clear or light yellow in color.
Stay away from pomade. It is not the same as wax...it is like wax..but no, no no! Pomade is thicker than wax, it will do a mess on your hair and you don't want that since you are wanting the natural look.
I would actually suggest a hair creame wax. It is like wax, but much lighter. It does not lead to buildup, and your hair will still have that natural look. Regular wax will weigh your hair down and using wax, trust me, you will washing your hair everyday. So what's the difference between HAIR GEL and HAIR WAX?
Yes, wax doesn't get hard. Don't use too much, though. It will look greasy.
wax is great..a little goes a long way altho its a little greasy..better then gel.. try peter copplla hair MUD its more like a dryer wax
Use Brylcreem!
Forget about:
Hair Gel
Mousee
Hairspray
Pomade
It's all about the BRYLCREEM!
';A lil dab'll do ya!';
Hair gel is very sticky and can flake. It does hold your hair together better and will give you a better spiked/crispy look. Hair wax is on the softer side with-out the flakes. It will also hold your hair together, but not as much as the gel. The wax will give you a more natural look, but make sure that you don't use too much because then it will look greasy. I would rotate between the two so you don't get too much build up.
gel is light and flaky wax is thick and gooky and causes build up
try moose
switching to wax may work, but don't use too much or you'll just end up loking greasy... you can also use a pomade
hair wax is more natural than hair gel. I've recently switch to hair wax because its a lot more easy to style my hair with.
About hair gel, sometimes I have the problem of the hair gel hardening and breaking off from my hair like dried glue.deleted myspace

Is it bad to use hair gel like 3-4 times a week?
I only use gel 3-4 times a week when my hair is kinda long and i dont use it that much when is short. Is it bad to use hair gel like 3-4 times a week?
Nope as longs as you wash it out the only bad thing about gel and hairspray is that it make your hair greesy the next day or so. But aside from that it is good to use. I use hair spray but sense your a guy it makes sense that you use gel, myIs it bad to use hair gel like 3-4 times a week?

Is it ok to use hair gel on a costume wig?
I don't guess I'm going to need to use it again after tonight.
It's a costume party and my character has sweat soaked clunky hair and the wig is just normal dry hair, nothing like the character.
Is it ok to use hair gel on the wig or will the hairs fall out? or will it not look right? Or is there something else I should use?
Thanks for info!Is it ok to use hair gel on a costume wig?
IF it's a good wig it should probably be ok. If it's a cheap costume wig, then you never know. The worst thing that could probably happen is that your wig has bad dandruff. My advice would be to
1.Check the box for guidelines
2.Contact your local salon
3.And buy high quality gel

Why does hair gel make my head hurt?
I've tried a few different brands, and after it hardens up, it feels like somebody is grabbing fist-fulls of my hair and tugging on it! Why?Why does hair gel make my head hurt?
Hmm...
It sounds like to me, you are using too much, and it gets caked up on your scalp.
You probably have senstivie skin.
Try using a mouse instead, or a kids gel.
Kids products are typically not as harsh.

Does V05 Texturising gum hair gel have a finish like a gel or like a wax?
i am trying to find a good gel/wax that does not have a hard finish and thought that this one might be quite good. any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.Does V05 Texturising gum hair gel have a finish like a gel or like a wax?
I have that stuff! Its like a wax mostly, it has really good hold and its not wet or moist or icky. Really easy to use.Does V05 Texturising gum hair gel have a finish like a gel or like a wax?
Sigh. I see your first mistake already. You're using V05.
Throw that in the GARBAGE and start buying salon products. You'll pay MORE but it's worth it.
I use Redken Maneuver wax ($15) and top it off with a good finishing spray. I probably don't need the spray but I have a pretty profound ';hawk'; that I need to keep in place.
Go brand name on conditioners and styling products. Shampoo can be bought cheap as it's only purpose is to CLEAN your hair. Anything can do that.deleted myspace

I use a brand called ';W'; (for 'wet').
I always see it at every grocery store, like Albertson's, Kroger, Tom Thumb, but it's cheapest at Wal-Mart (about $6).
I've been using it for a few years now. It's in a white, kind of tall box and it has a big gold ';W'; on the front. It has little w's all over the box too.
It's PERFECT for that wet look, since it's a gel that specifically made for it. Also, unlike other gel's I've used (and I've tried a LOT!) it has a really pleasant smell and doesn't smell like chemicals.
I have really frizzy hair and I hate putting heat on it with a blowdrier or flatiron every single day and the gel really makes it pretty and adds sheen and makes it look wet, but it holds in place all day.
any gel leaves it wet and greasy looking. yu can buy gel at any store near you. If you wat it wet also try mousse, even though it will probaly dry out towrads the end of they day. But you wouldnt want to stack your hair in gel, it makes your neck sticky and gross.

What can I use on my hair that will achieve the same results as hair gel, but won't look as tacky?
I really am not a hair gel fan. It's too sticky. I want something that's going to allow my hair to move, but still hold my style. Can I mix hair gel and styling cream together to get this kind of result? What can I use on my hair that will achieve the same results as hair gel, but won't look as tacky?
I wouldn't recommend mixing...just get a good pomade, or putty, i recommend Alberto's VO5 Reworkable Putty, works better than mousse and it allows you to change your hair style up throughout the day, or just fix your hair. Hope that helps :)What can I use on my hair that will achieve the same results as hair gel, but won't look as tacky?
I personally like hair mousse to achieve that look %26amp; feel.
mouse... it looks good and usually smells alot better than gel... and its not unhealthy like gel
Use elmers wood glue..It's cheap, and hardens up really great!
i have to agree with luvhun she is right mouse is the best and it doesn't leave it as tacky as hair gel.oh no don't mix gel with cream the results wont come out good. just try using mousse 4 know.
Some people use mousse which works wonders, but I use this special product that you have to buy from beauty salons called Potion 9, it works GREAT... if not, mousse works good too, leave in conditioner as well.

Using hair conditioner as a sub for hair gel?
I've that using hair conditioner on your hair has a substitute for hair gel is really good. They say is better and safer for your hair. I've tried this a few times and i like the way it works, u don't have a hardness on your head and its soft and shiny. Is this a better way to keep your hair up? Does using conditioner more or less damaging to your hair?Using hair conditioner as a sub for hair gel?
I would think it would make your hair greasy looking. But I don't use gel so who knows.

Is it safe to take hairspray/ hair gel/ hair products on an airplane?
Yes. There are limits on the amount of aerosols you can bring onboard though:
Toiletry items can be carried in checked or carryon baggage, but must be limited to 16 fluid ounces (18 ounces by mass). This includes hairspray, aerosol deodorants, shaving cream, perfumes/colognes, nail polish, nail polish remover, insect repellant (aerosol, pump or lotion) and other non-radioactive pharmaceuticals.
The combined total of individual bottles of hazardous toiletries cannot exceed 68 fluid ounces.

Very stupid question but I have never used hair gel... so a little help...please...How do you make your hair seem damp with hair gel?
Well, you actually can buy hair gel that'll say wet effect ot keepd hair looking damp...you'll want to buy these ones. But you have to be careful and use it sparsely to avoid lookink like you hair is too oily. A goo brand to use: Garnier Fructis Style Wet Effect Gell...it'll come in a green, see-through tube. How do you make your hair seem damp with hair gel?
Wash your hair then work the gel through it. Just let it dry like that and it will look like it's still wet because of the gel.

How much is too much?Is it true that if you use to much hair gel your hair will get thinner and start to fall out?
every single say can cause damage ...
but yet again an expensive good moose or spray wont have that much affectIs it true that if you use to much hair gel your hair will get thinner and start to fall out?
i use an extremly lot of gel and it hs not done it to my hair yet
anything if applied on scalp can thin your hair..try to put gel only on hair not on scalp.
same goes for conditioners.
idk and i dont want to know
Well hair gel has alot of stuff to dry your hair our.....so if you use alot then it will dry your hair out,and your hair Will start to break off....it happened to my cousin...then she had to go a year without using it,to restore her hair. Now she uses it every so often.
Too much of anything is not a good thing. I think anything more than the size of a US half dollar is enough.
Try finding a conditioning hair gel, one WITHOUT alcohol in it as alcohol tends to dry the hair at the follicle.
Ensure that you are washing and conditioning on a daily basis.

JOICO makes a great product called :
';ICE Hair Spiker water-resistant styling glue';
Price: $12.95 - $27.95
Here's a pic of the product:

Amazon gave it a Rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
- Absolutely amazing hold strength
If you are looking for a product that has an amazing hold %26amp; lasting through the day capability, then look no further. This product gives your hair a wet look, %26amp; the gel can be restyled by simply lightly damping your hair %26amp; restyling. I have been using this product for years %26amp; haven't found anything this strong. Strength is also based on how much you put in your hair.
Best thing is, unlike other hair gels...:
***This gel does not flake.*** also it's not greasy...is different than other hair gels...you have to try it.
After washing, gently towel dry hair to remove excess moisture. Apply a small amount of gel or spray gel while hair is still wet but not sopping. You need some moisture to help the gel spread evenly through hair without being sticky. Comb through with brush or fingers. Then flip head over and scrunch hair in your fists to encourage the waves. You can then air dry or dry hair on low with a diffuser. Finish off with a shine serum and you're done!
I stopped using gel because it can flake.
To get the flyaways down and give your hair shine try bedhead's Afterparty product. Put it on light and it won't look greasy.
360 Style (Wave Control Pomade) is cheap and a great way to emphasize your layers even if you have straight hair like mine. It'll break up your hair so it gives it that cool chunky look.
You only need a little of each and you'll achieve the perfect hairdo. Just enough to lightly cover your fingertips.
well when i use treseme strong hold gel it makes my hair look wet when i dont want it to though haha, just put it in when your hair is wet, make it how ever you want it and it will stay that way and look wet
and ya you could use hair wax.
When you get out of the shower towel dry your hair just a little so it is still damp. Then brush your hair with a paddle brush. flip your hair over and use gel or some type of moose (I use herbal essance totally twisted moose) and rub into hands and then scruch hair with product in hand.
hope this helps. the product depends on the type of look you want.
After you wash your hair towel dry it or wait till its damp then gel it up and after put hairspray in it... Then you can wait for it to dry or blow dry it.. and it will look good... I do it all the time but my hair is naturally curly so if i don't do it it will look frizzy
So you take a shower and wash your hair. Then you put the gel in your hair. It may not work depending on your type of hair and the type of gel.
so you take your clothes off.
step in the shower.
wash your hair.
get out. put a towel around your body.
put a towel around your head.
shake your hair.
insert gel into your dead cells (hair)
Put the gel on when your hair is wet, then style it with your fingers or a comb (not a hair dryer), but then don't touch your hair after that.
You dont, you use hair foam or mousse or whatever its called. Smooth it into your hair. Hair gel makes it greasy. Not wet, greasy.
Put the gel in your hair when it is wet, and use a blow dryer. But be careful, too much and it will just look oily!!
After I take a shower I but gel in my hair and scrunch the hair up and spray it with hair spray.
Pour a bucket of water over your head every hour or so.
Smooth your hair down with the gel.
Then you style your hair anyway
Slap the hair gel on and scrunch your hair
use wet look hair gel ? available from most shops .
use some water and hairspray
apply it along with a bit of BABY OIL
use the whole jar
Put the gel in when your hair is wet...
use wax

I have long thick straightened hair and i intend to spike the back for halloween.Hey what is a really common hair gel but extremely strong?
got2bglued spiking glue
or you can try what punks use to spike up their mohawks... knox gelatin... its the best thing for thatHey what is a really common hair gel but extremely strong?
There is this gel that's by BedHead and it's in a green bottle, and is all sparkly:), and holds like glue, seriously, but it's kinda expensive, and not worth the money for one night.
You could try Garnier Fructis, their stuff is usually pretty good, plus there's this new ';bamboo'; strong stuff, made out of bamboo, give that a try.

What's a good hair gel for girls that I can get at wall-mart?
I want my hair to look kind of spikey, but still look natural, so it has a little anime style. What's a good hair gel for girls that I can get at wall-mart?
Anime hair will never look natural, but I suggest looking for a pomade or a wax and using the tips of your fingers to seperate the pieces of hair.

If I use a hair gel every day and only wash my hair every other day, will the gel eventually damage my hair?
I have normal hair (it's not dry, but not oily) and the current hairstyle I have requires that I use hair gel to style it. I wash my hair every other day, because washing it too much can dry my hair out and give me split ends. I want to know if this routine combined with the hair gel is going to damage my hair. I use some kind of Suave Sculpting Hair Gel for my hair...If I use a hair gel every day and only wash my hair every other day, will the gel eventually damage my hair?
No, I don't think so. But you have to use a no alcohool gel, and once a week you have to do some hydration on your hair, ok?

Is there a difference in look for hair with hair moose and hair with hair gel?
I'm deciding which to buy-I don't want my hair to keep falling off if I buy %26amp; use moose, but I don't want my hair to be very hard with gel... And I want my hair to look natural. Is there a difference in look for hair with hair moose and hair with hair gel?

--How to Use Hair Wax or Gel
Steps
1. Apply the wax or gel amount corresponding to a 1/3 of your index finger on one of your palms
2. Rub your palms together and “warm up” the hair-product by a sliding, fast friction motion (just like you were to wash your palms very forcefully).
3. Now, both of your hands should be full of the hair-products, your palms and fingers too.
4. In a quick and not too hard movement (don’t do like when you’re washing hair), massage your hands through your entire hair (including hair at the back of the head) all the way to the scalp. If you have short hair: Begin thinking on a direction you want your hair to bristle towards and slowly comb your finger through your hair in that direction.
5. Once you have no more visible hair-product on your palms, you can start fine-tuning straws of hair by changing the direction they are pointing towards.
6. If you have short hair and want an “out of the bed”-look, then simply massage mud-max through your hair very quickly and in all directions. Stop, and if the desirable look isn’t achieved, apply more hair-product to your hands and try stylizing again.
Tips
* There is a point where hair won’t bristle anymore, either because you have added too much hair-product and it has gotten heavy, or because you haven’t washed your hair for a couple of days and your hair is heavy. If this is the case, then you must wash your hair before you can re-apply some hair-product and change the hair-styling.
Warnings
* Mud-wax or other hair-waxes/gels you buy at your hairdresser generally cant cause any damage to the hair or the scalp, but you should rinse your hair with water before going to bed every time you use a stylizing hair-product (to avoid irritation of the scalp). How do I use hair gel? What hair gel is recommended for texturized men hair?
I really want my hair to stand out of the crowd. Well, actually I dont know what gel is the best to use. I would like one that does not make my hair hard but instead stay moist and softer all day long. U know..the one that my curl could be a true curl, lol. Also, while Im on the hair subject I have a stupid question. Im half black and half spanish. However, my hair is on the black side of the equation. How do I get my hair to look more like spanish people hair. U know like the spikes..and etc. Any suggestions on either question?
Thanks

Is it okay to mix hair gel and pomade together?

Does wearing hair gel on a consistent basis have a negative effect on your hair in the future?
I recently read an article saying that Americans wash their hair too much and are actually causing more damage than good, is this the same for wearing hair gel on a daily basis? My job requires a clean, unkempt attire and I have the kind of hair that needs to be gelled so I don't look like I just rolled out of bed and went to work...Does wearing hair gel on a consistent basis have a negative effect on your hair in the future?
I think it definitely dries your hair out
but i dont know about damage.

Can hair gel / styling paste cause baldness in men if used on a daily basis?
I've tried researching this on the web, but the ';experts'; seem to have different views. Personally I think if you shampoo your hair often, this shouldn't be an issue. Any thoughts? Can hair gel / styling paste cause baldness in men if used on a daily basis?
Any product used to clean or style hair should not cause baldness. It defeats the purpose, if by using the product you lose the hair it's styling or cleaning. Can hair gel / styling paste cause baldness in men if used on a daily basis?
i also believe that when u wash ur hair regularly,, everyday, the dirt that has accumulated because of the gel will be washed away.
No it is no problem at all! I know someone who uses gel everyday for his hair and he is not bald.

What is the diffrence between hair gel and hair wax ?
Is the a big diffrence?
Thanks! What is the diffrence between hair gel and hair wax ?
Gel keeps your hair stiff and kind of crunchy and gives it that ';wet'; look. Wax keeps hair softer than gel while still upholding a style, and doesn't look wet. What is the diffrence between hair gel and hair wax ?
Hair gel is generally a stiff wet look. Wax is firm, yet movable and more of a dry look. Between those choices, paste is best. Paste is sticky in your hand and very movable yet it will hold all day. It will separate your hair to look more pacey
Hair wax is really sticky and if you want a hairstyle that looks natural but stays like you want it to then that's the one to use. Hair gel is shiny and it really shows but it holds better than hair wax.
gel is used on wet hair to make a style last through the day and still allow the hair to move, wax flat out keeps it stiff.
ya there is different ,, each one make different styledeleted myspace

What the differendce between hair gel and hair putty?
because i noticed they do different things to your hair, but whats the actual difference? What the differendce between hair gel and hair putty?
not sure, but gel dries harder, and i think putty is a strong shaper, in that it makes the hair a bit stiffer but not hard. What the differendce between hair gel and hair putty?
Gel is much thinner, and gives a strong but brittle hold. Putty will give you a strong flexible hold, and goes on thick. Putty wil give you a piecey look, gel holds everything together.
gel is usually water-based
putty is usually petroleum-based (um, think vaseline) or wax-based (think beeswax).
um ones putty and the others gel
Um, one's a gel, the other's not?

Does hair gel increase the likelihood of male pattern baldness?
Is there any evidence to support this?
I have seen some people who use gel regularly and have what looks like bald patches.Does hair gel increase the likelihood of male pattern baldness?
Oh gel, men and their gel. What you maybe starting to see on others is the fact that what gels do is bond hairs together (duh you knew this already) but it also tends to have them stick to the scalp. So that when the hair is hard it gets flattened and pushed toward the scalp which can make it look like there are thin spots or make thinning spots look worse. This is why things like Rogaine is a foam, its lighter and you still get hold. Same with a pomade lighter things that are cream based don't look so heavy on your head.Does hair gel increase the likelihood of male pattern baldness?
no. what can happen is the gel is overused and gets hard.then when combing it out people rip out their hair. male pattern baldness is caused by the overproduction of male
testosterone. you can do research on you pc and get all the juice.
weel dats is probaly because the didnt have enough jell in hair to make it dry out or its because they was putting to much jell in their hair to make it fall out so my best advice is to never put to much jell or no jell at all cuz it can fall out from being dry so just keep just enough jell in ur hair
Hair gel only effects the hair that is already grown, unless you rub it into your scalp. Baldness is caused by problems with the hair follicle itself (the part that's under the skin, it actually creates the individual hair).
They may be allergic to that brand, or they put too much in and the hair gets stiff and brittle and breaks. Either way, the baldness would likely be temporary.
No but guys that wear hats will increase their chances of getting bald.
yeh of course...i
Yes there hair falls out coz of the chemicals.

How long can you use a) contact lens or b) hair gel before they EXPIRE?
I have had contact lens for almost a year. I have an one-day-use disposable contact lens in an unopened package. I also have several unopened packages of contact lens that can be used for a week (I think, not sure). Is it safe to use them now, if I've had them since mid-2005?
I also have hair gel in an opened bottle. I use it rarely but when I do, I'm not sure if it's harmful to me or anything, because the gel seems the same as before. I've had this bottle for about 3-4 years now.
Simplified, is it still SAFE to use these products after sitting for so long?
Thanks. How long can you use a) contact lens or b) hair gel before they EXPIRE?
As far as the contacts go, there should be an expiration date printed on the package. Most will keep unopened in their original packaging for a good 3-4 years. Just make sure that once you open it that you clean and replace it according to your doctor's instructions.
I'm not sure about the hair gel, but I think that as long as it still has the proper consistency, it shouldn't be harmful.

What can I use instead of hair gel to flatten hair?
I'm a guy with mid-length guy hair and I normally wear backwards caps on an average day, but the problem is the back of my hair doesn't lay completely flat.... It's perfect if it's soaking wet, but only for 30 minutes.... Or it's fine if I use some water+gel, but I'm not a fan of wearing a hat and still needing some gel... Is there anything else I could use? I tried some Frizz-Ease serum stuff, but that didn't really do anything for me. Thanks in advance! What can I use instead of hair gel to flatten hair?

Smells unbelievable too! Happy Holidays! What can I use instead of hair gel to flatten hair?
a really small amount of lotion.
if you use too much it will become greasy.
hope it helps! :)
Maybe if its long enough use straightners, or use hair moose.
Bed head hair serum is really good for controlling your hair.
Hope this helps
a hair strightener would work you can get them at wallgreens
http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>
you could use hair wax its really good, or you could always leave a bit of conditioner in your hair when you wash it
Are you Black? If not what kind of hair texture do you have?
Baby oil.
lol
It does actually work on dry hair, but you have to blow dry your hair again after you've put it on so it doesnt look greasy.
It makes hair really flat.
And if you dont like it, you can always wash it out.
Merry Christmas =]
get a flat iron and have a girl friend, or someone at a hair salon show you how to use it.
the brand bed head straightner is great for that...being a guy i'm not sure but if u have the time but, a flat iron is wonderful....just make sure on damp hair u use a protector prior to drying because even the best flat iron will still break ur hair ....i use a flat iron everyday because my hair has a slight wave sounds like urs might too ... merry x-masdeleted myspace
